My main suggestion would be to start slow. Your weight issues developed over years; it will take time to solve them (but not necessarily 3 years).

Also, since you went through a tough couple of years, it's important to remember that you deserve to enjoy your life. I would suggest first finding some type of physical activity you enjoy. It could be hiking, gardening, playing with your grandkids, a hobby, anything really. Make sure it's something you enjoy because that will make it easy to stick to.

Once you make a habit out of that, you can start doing some of the less fun things, like taking a look at your diet or getting on a more structured exercise plan.
