The value of quotes is often overrated. However, one thing quotes are great for is making you think deeply about a seemingly simple concept.

Here are 3 quotes that made me think this week.

“A person who won’t read has no advantage over one who can’t read.”

— Mark Twain

This quote made me think about wasted talent. We all have skills that we don’t put into use very often. What is the point of having a skill that you never use?

“Spoon feeding, in the long run, teaches us nothing but the shape of the spoon.”

― E.M. Forster

Any parent or educator understands the urge to solve every problem for their child/student. However, it is usually more effective to give someone the tools they need to solve a problem. Then sit back and let them struggle through it themselves.

“Free education is abundant, all over the Internet. It’s the desire to learn that’s scarce.”

— Naval Ravikant

I have always thought that curiosity was one of the most underrated traits. In today's world, curiosity will take you a long way. The answers you are curious about are often one book or google search away.
